NEIGHBORHOOD FORUM | ANOTHER VIEW
When Barnet Council decided to not renew the Neighborhood Forum it never gave any reason apart from lack of numbers on the committee.
To throw away 5 years of work on a technicality was a strange decision. One that had been primed by a group of local activists led by the so called Gang of 5. That the Gang of 5 were present at that meeting is proof enough that the decision was because of their intervention.
The local Mill Hill Litter Pickers claim to protect the environment yet their leaders are in the Gang if 5. How can any residents take them seriously when they actively dismantle the only statutory local organization that can protect our environment.
John Gillett worked hard to oppose overdevelopment in the area, and the plan he had 90% written protected the area.
Without his voice and the finished plan, property developers can drive through all manner of schemes in Mill Hill.
The village is under threat. Plus Pentavia is a given. In fact this is just the start. The Mayor will wave through any large affordable scheme to meet targets. Sadly the well meaning Residents Association have already messed up the appeal against Pentavia to the Minister of State by using the wrong arguments. So it won't be called in. Not least because there is no neighborhood plan to back up any arguments.
So when people in Mill Hill tell you it is getting overdeveloped and infrastructure is creaking, who is to blame ? The facts say the power crazed gang if 5 who have destroyed our protection.
John Gillett should be allowed to finish the job. A huge grass roots campaign is growing daily to argue that the Neighborhood Forum should be reinstated and John as well. He is the only person who can slow these developments down. He has the paperwork. He has the knowledge. The Gang of 5 have no qualifications between them according to our sources and have never worked at a management level. Why did Barnet Council listen to them ? Some suggest it suits the property developer friends of the council but we have not seen any evidence.
The conclusion is that Mill Hill is unguarded. A terrible situation for residents.
